The Impacts of High-Speed Rail on Producer Service Industry Agglomeration: Evidence from China’s Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration

The construction of the high-speed rail (HSR) network in China has greatly weakened spatial barriers to flow production resources, which become a key factor affecting layout producer service industry. Based on panel data 26 cities Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2005 2018, this paper uses multi-phase difference-in-difference (DID) model examine impacts HSR services agglomerations industry and its subdivision industries two perspectives, namely, specialized diversified agglomeration. results show that: (1) whole, opening an significant positive effect negative agglomeration; (2) terms industries, there exists industrial heterogeneity under services, regardless whether it is or among them, financial belongs “highly promotion” industry, while other four belong inhibition”
